Equivalence of stochastic equations and martingale problems
The fact that the solution of a martingale problem for a diffusion process gives a weak solution of the corresponding Itô equation is well-known since the original work of Stroock and Varadhan. The result is typically proved by constructing the driving Brownian motion from the solution of the martingale problem and perhaps an auxiliary Brownian motion. This constructive approach is much more ch...
متن کاملOn the martingale probem associated to the 2D and 3D Stochastic Navier-Stokes equations
We consider the martingale problem associated to the NavierStokes in dimension 2 or 3. Existence is well known and it has been recently shown that markovian transition semi group associated to these equations can be constructed. We study the Kolmogorov operator associated to these equations. It can be defined formally as a differential operator on an infinite dimensional Hilbert space. It can b...
متن کاملGlobal Existence of Martingale Solutions to the Three-dimensional Stochastic Compressible Navier-stokes Equations
The stochastic three-dimensional compressible Navier-Stokes equations are considered in a bounded domain with multiplicative noise. The global existence of martingale solution is established through the Galerkin approximation method, stopping time, compactness method and the Jakubowski-Skorokhod theorem. A martingale solution is a weak solution for the fluid variables and the Brownian motion on...
متن کاملThe martingale property in the context of stochastic differential equations
This note studies the martingale property of a nonnegative, continuous local martingale Z, given as a nonanticipative functional of a solution to a stochastic differential equation. The condition states that Z is a (uniformly integrable) martingale if and only if an integral test of a related functional holds.
متن کاملStationary Stochastic Viscosity Solutions of SPDEs
In this paper we aim to obtain the stationary stochastic viscosity solutions of a parabolic type SPDEs through the infinite horizon backward doubly stochastic differential equations (BDSDEs). For this, we study the existence, uniqueness and regularity of solutions of infinite horizon BDSDEs as well as the “perfection procedure” applied to the solutions of BDSDEs to derive the “perfect” stationa...
